Alissa’s
educational background comes from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She
holds a BS in Elementary Education as well as an MS in Educational Leadership.
Alissa’s experience in the field of education spans nearly thirteen years and
ranges from infants up to third grade. Most of her time has been spent working
with the preschool age as that is her passion. Alissa had the pleasure of
owning and operating a private preschool in Neenah, WI for several years. She
also teaches Early Education courses for Madison College.
In her time spent
outside of school, Alissa enjoys family life with her husband and two children.
They spend most of their time in the outdoors; camping, fishing, biking,
sporting events, tennis, and running are a few favorite activities. Alissa also
enjoys cooking, reading and traveling to new places.
Mrs. Christianson: Room 2
I am Jo Christianson a new and very
excited addition to the PCP teaching staff. I will be teaching the Room 2
morning classes. I recently retired from the Jefferson School District
where I taught Early Childhood - Special Education. I have taught for 19
years in a variety of positions, kindergarten through 2nd grade - Severe and
Multiple Disabilities, Kindergarten and, of course, Early Childhood. In
2007, I certified as a National Board Teacher in the Early Childhood -
Generalist area. I now work with NBCTs throughout Wisconsin supporting
other teachers during the certification process. Favorite ways to spend my time
include reading, gardening, camping, quilting and most especially sharing
learning adventures with young children.
Mrs. Nehmer: Room 3
My name is Kate Nehmer. I have been a member of
the PCP family for 17 years. I teach the 3 year old class and have been
involved in early childhood for over 30 years. I have an Early Childhood Education
degree from UW-Stevens Point. My husband Joe and I have lived in Fort Atkinson
for most of our lives. We have a daughter, Maggie, who is a sophomore in
college pursuing a degree in education.
Maggie is a PCP "graduate" and has volunteered at our preschool for
the last 5 years. Teaching young children has been my lifelong passion.
Mrs. Martin: 4K

Kindergarten teachers. I have been
teaching 4year olds at Parents Cooperative Preschool over 20 years. I have a
Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood

Childhood from Marian University. I have worked as an aide in both
4K and 5K classrooms for 3 years and have taught 5K for 2
years. I am married and we have a 1 1/2 year old girl Kylie. I
am very excited to be joining the Parents Cooperative Preschool community.
All of our staff have 4-year university degrees in teaching and education and belong to the Registry, and have worked at various other schools and/or day cares.
Board President
Hi, I am Jolyn Baldry and will be serving the
PCP families this year as the President of the Executive Board/PTO. I have been a member of the PCP family for
the past 5 years and feel blessed to be able to work with other parents and the
teachers of this preschool to impact the early learning experiences of our
young children. My husband, Rocky, and I
have lived in the Fort Atkinson community for the past 10 years and we have 4 children
- Noah (7), Hannah (5), Elijah (4) and Lydia (1). PCP has been a place of
community and connection for our family, both as parents as well as for our
children and the friendships they have made.
Welcome to our PCP community!
Board Vice President
I am Rachel Broadhead and will be your PCP and PTO
vice president this year. My family has been involved with PCP since 2008 when
my oldest joined the 3-year afternoon class. I have 4 children - Mitch
(8) and Jack (6) who are Purdy Elementary students, Monica (4) in 4K at PCP,
and Brock (1 1/2). Before having children, I was a student program advisor and
an event planner. Volunteering to help with events at PCP allows me to pursue a
personal passion while helping this cooperative succeed.
Board Treasurer
My
name is Nova Jiongco and I will be serving as PCP's Treasurer. I am an
alumni of Fort Atkinson High School and have obtained a BS in business from
UW-Whitewater. I am the owner of Crimson Salon and Spa located in Fort
Atkinson, and have gained knowledge as a small business owner that I hope to
contribute towards my treasurer position here at PCP. I currently have
two daughters that attend PCP, Layla and Presley. I look forward to
meeting all the families that make PCP a great community for a supportive
learning environment.
Board Secretary
Hi, my name is Sue Chapman. I am the current secretary. I am the Mother of Olivia, who is currently
in PCP's 4K program. My husband, Kurt,
and I have 3 other children- Sophia (age 9), Will (age 8), and Jake (age 5). We have had one or more children
participating at PCP for the past 7 years. I have many fond memories of this
school and am so grateful that our kids have been able to participate under
some of the best preschool teachers around.
Besides its cozy and family-like atmosphere, my favorite thing about our
school is its "cooperative"
nature. It is fun to volunteer in the kids classrooms and to observe the
amazing progress these children make in 9 short months. I hope your experience
with PCP is as fulfilling as ours has been.
