We strive to have all of our fundraising efforts be opportunities or products that families need, want or can easily donate. All fundraisers are optional and you can choose which ones work for you. Particpation is appreciated as it keeps our tuition low and helps fund special purchases for the preschool and fun events for the children.
Recycling Fundraiser
We have a box available for recycling items such as cell phones, MP3 players, GPS devices, radar detectors, printer cartridges, DVD’s, digital cameras, laptops, and even gold, platinum and Silver Jewelry, etc. A company acceps them for recycling and we receive a small check. This box is located in the hallway on top of the coat racks. Thank you for your donations!
Scrip
Scrip is an easy fundraiser. You get back every dollar you put in. Our preschool places an order for gift cards or gift certificates through a company and the preschool is given a percentage of the sale. Many local grocery stores, gas stations, department stores and online stores are included on the list. They spend just like cash and make great gifts. These can be used for every day shopping and even paying bills. We will place a Scrip order in the Fall, near the Holidays and in the Spring.
Near the holidays, we give parents the opportunity to purchase Poinsettias and Pie Certificates. The Poinsettias are from Humphrey floral and are big and beautiful. They are offered to us at a discount and some of that discount is passed on to you. We also sell Poyer's Pie Certificates and you pay the exact amount that the certificate is for. We get a percent of the sale. They make great gifts!
In the Spring, we offer for sale, beautiful and full blooming plants and these are also from Humphrey Floral and Gift. Families are very pleased by these plants as they are beautiful, hearty plants. We sell Begonias, Impatiens, and Geraniums. We order close to Mother’s Day.
Artsonia
This is a large online museum with artwork showcased from thousands of schools, including ours, beginning this year. Parents and relatives will be able to see and buy items with the child’s artwork on it. A small percentage of any sales goes back to the preschool!
Kids Concerts
Twice per year, we hire a children’s entertainer to come to Parents Cooperative Preschool on a Friday. We sell tickets and concessions and have a great time. The profit we make from these concerts allows us to hire another children’s entertainer to come to the preschool during the day for all the children. Last year, this was done during the “Week of the Young Child” in May.
