Our highly qualified and experienced teachers prepare the environment to help young children expand their knowledge, develop a healthy self-concept and acquire academic skills. Each teacher develops their own develop- mentally and age-appropriate classroom curriculum. Learning is incorporated through monthly thematic units.
Language Arts
Language Development is incorporated in all daily activities. Children are engaged in creative learning experiences like storytelling, singing songs, show and tell, games and other age-appropriate activities. Through creative learning experiences, children learn to express their ideas and associate the written word with the spoken word.
Math
Basic Math skills are introduced. Children learn sorting and counting skills, putting materials in order, and patterning. For a young child, this is an active process of problem solving and organizing experiences to help the child make sense of their world.
Art
The children are exposed to a wide variety of art media and various processes, allowing ample opportunities to experiment with color, shape, texture and design. The emphasis of our art projects is focused on the process rather than the finished product allowing children to express their individual ideas and feelings, while developing confidence and pride.
Science
Children will have hands-on, real-life activities that encourage a sense of discovery in the world around us.
Music
Music activities provide a means of self-expression and freedom of body movement through experimentation with songs, instruments, finger plays, games and dancing.
Large/Motor skills
Physical play helps young children develop an awareness of their bodies while enhancing balance, strength and coordination.
Guided Play
Our interest areas or centers are structured to offer opportunities for both quiet and active play, while promoting cooperation between children, and allowing them to organize their time. Our teachers encourage children to use their imaginations and to make their own decisions.
