Room 2

At this level, our program is designed to help children explore and discover the world around him or her, while emphasizing language development. We encourage our students to become individuals while learning to play cooperatively and respect the rights of others.

2-Year Old Teacher; Lauren Coleman

My name is Miss Lauren, and I cannot wait to be your teacher! I am a mom of two awesome boys – Jaime (1) and Elijah (8). I have a cat named Boba too! This will be my first year at PCP, but I have been working with kids for a very long time. I love teaching, and I am so excited to start my journey in the 2K classroom!

Room 3

Children in this age group are ready  for more challenges. Our program provides an environment that helps your child in transition from an individual learner to a group participant. Our curriculum at this level gradually introduces key concepts and skills.

3-Year-Old Teacher: Emily Yavuzcetin

Greetings from the 3K room!  My name is Emily Yavuzcetin, but the kids call me Miss Emily!  I have been a part of the PCP community since 2016 in many forms from Parent to Board Member to Teacher.  I love letting the kids explore through Art, Science and especially Play!  When I’m not at school I’m at home with my husband and our 3 energetic kids. Whether it’s hiking or jumping on an airplane to explore the world with them, we keep busy!

4 Year Old Kindergarten

Children at this level are offered a pre-kindergarten program in conjunction with the Fort Atkinson School District, that will prepare them for the academic and social challenges of an elementary school environment. Our purpose is to create a strong foundation of skills upon which all future learning is built. Parents are not required to help in 4K classrooms.

4-Year-Old Kindergarten AM and PM Teacher: Beth Martin

Beth Headshot

My name is Mrs. Martin and I am one of our 4-year-old Kindergarten teachers. I have been teaching 4 year olds at Parents Cooperative Preschool for 31 years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I have two children, Aaron will be receiving a Masters in Historical Administration in December and Emily will be attending UW-River Falls in the fall studying Pre-Vet. They both are graduates of Parents Cooperative Preschool. I have always had a love for young children and a desire to give them a wonderful start to school.

4-Year-Old Kindergarten Aide:  Miss Kerri Damm

Our 2023-24 Executive Board:

President Jennifer Slak                         garnet3163@gmail.com

Hello everyone, I am Jenn Slak and I am very happy to be your Board President for the 2023-2024 school year! My oldest daughter Hannah completed 2K, 3K and 4K with PCP, therefore I know how wonderful this school is for our kiddos! My youngest daughter Hailey will be in 4K this year and loved 3K last year! I’ve been a parent helper in the classrooms for years and have also been a substitute teacher in the 2K and 3K classrooms. It’s a great way to find out what your kid’s interests are! And it’s fun to watch them interact with other children their age. Before becoming a stay-at-home mom in 2016 I worked in Human Resources for 9 years at the Tyson Foods in Jefferson, WI, which sadly closed the same summer my Hannah was born. It was kismet. I am so happy to be my girls’ primary caregiver. Our family loves to get out and enjoy all the fun that Fort Atkinson has to offer, such as the local library programs are wonderful and we love the Fort Farmer’s Market, parks and pool. All are great ways to meet new people as well! I’ve made so many new friends being part of the PCP family. My other interests are gardening, coming up with new activities for my girls and the whole family, enjoying walks/hikes, and playing with our Lab mix Toby!

Vice President: Sara Scullin        sarajschreiber@gmail.com

Hello! I’m Sara Scullin and I am excited to join the PCP board this year as Vice President. I worked in publishing full-time for 13 years before transitioning to stay home with my son Daniel, 6 and daughter Vera, 3 a year ago. Things I enjoy are strolls around town, watching old movies, travel, and sitting down with a good book. My husband and I feel really lucky to raise our kids in Fort Atkinson with its close-knit community and access to so many parks, trails, live music, and family friendly programs. My daughter will be starting her own journey at Parents Cooperative in the 3k classroom this fall, and I can’t wait to meet and work with our family of parents, teachers, and little ones this school year.

Treasurer: Danielle Holtz          d.r.brandstatter@gmail.com

My name is Danielle Holtz and I am excited to join the board as the Treasurer! My husband and I are starting a small farm near Cold Springs, WI. I also enjoy gardening, cooking, and reading.  I worked in Public Schools for 5 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom when my son Carl was born. Now at 3 years old, Carl will be enrolled in the 3K classroom. He is looking forward to the routine and fun that being at PCP provides. Carl was able to join the 2K class last year for a few months after he turned 2 and during that short time it was amazing to see him grow, adapt and socialize. It was a joy to be a parent helper in his classroom.  We cannot wait for the 2023-2024 school year!

Secretary: Nikki Smithyman          nikkismityman@gmail.com

Hello! My name is Nikki Smithyman and I am the PCP school board secretary for the 2023-2024 school year. I am a stay-at-home mom to 3 girls and have a Masters in Early Childhood Education. Winnie is 7, Wren is 4, and Lucy turns 2 in September. We have been at PCP since 2018, when Winnie first started 2K. This year Wren is excited to be attending 4K and Lulu will be attending 2K at PCP. My husband and I love the family aspect that Parents Cooperative offers. It truly feels like a community! I greatly enjoy being a parent helper and being able to see my little ones interact at school.  I’m excited to meet other parents and have a great 2023-2024 school year!
